Small but mighty

This small, handmade wool rug by Svetlana, as is often the case, features the deep, vibrant red characteristic of Balkan textiles. It has a small central motif, also found on textiles from the region and far beyond. Its small size allows it to be placed under a cup, on a shelf, a bedside table, or a pedestal table. These small rugs, commonly found in Slavic interiors, thus serve a variety of purposes, both utilitarian and purely decorative.
